Feathers and The Law of Attraction - Continued

        

   Some day in September 2020 - when I was aimlessly wandering in Burlington Coat factory looking for home décor, I came across this beautiful tray with peacock feathers painted on it. Feathers have always captivated my attention and this tray was no exception. Furthermore, the product was under Clearance sale and I couldn't resist buying it. I bought it for our living room center table and I placed the add-ons - a sand clock and an artificial flower vase. When the tray was all set, I sat at the couch and looked at it. I thought this tray with feathers would mean something (hope, faith, reassurance, sign from angels) to my guests, if at all they are looking for the same - Not realizing that one day, this same tray is going to re-assure me when I was feeling very low. 

        

    Weeks passed by and we had friends gathering for Christmas and New Year's Eve. I was waiting for my EAD approval and it has been four months since I went on a loss of pay leave. The HR team stated that they would wait for 4 months to present my renewed EAD and I can join back, but the four month time limit was going to pass by first week of 2021. I worked my ass off in 2020 for the first 8 months and I thought I deserved some amount of bonus for the same. Getting the bonus amount was a question mark due to two reasons: 1) COVID-19 2) whether I will be still employed to receive it?

    I was sitting on the couch and my brain was over-thinking as usual. It went on loop over the losses I had in 2020 instead of counting the blessings. All of a sudden, my eyes looked closely at the tray - the gaps between the peacock feathers, something that I have never noticed before. I could see the faint engravings of bird feathers. It was no coincidence. It was a re-assurance for me, myself. I felt calm - a calm like never before. A calm that would slow the ripples of the water down, after stones are thrown back to back. 

    I realized that the tray was bought by me to reassure myself. (Do I sound like Nithyananda? lol :D) My future self wanted me to buy this tray to reinstate the faith in me when I really needed the most.    

    Few days later, a thought came that I should try to login to my workspace - which I wasn't able to do for quite sometime. I was able to login and I checked my emails after almost 100 days of inactivity. I saw my manager has approved to enter my name for H1B lottery for 2021. Next day, I got a call from my boss and we had the compensation discussion for 2020. I was happy that things turned out for my highest good.
