I was doing my Masters in Software systems (a distant education course) offered by BITS, Pilani. I was gearing myself up for my third semester for the four courses I had chosen. 3rd semester final exams meant the end of studying courses for credits as 4th semester had consisted only of project. I was happy about the same. The final exams happen on weekends, each course exam scheduled for the morning and afternoon.
Unfortunately, two days before that Saturday, I was not feeling well. I was sick with nausea. I threw up even if I had water. I knew I wasn't going to make it for the exams. Picking the remaining energy in myself, I got an auto, packed a set of clothes and went to my Periappa's house. My Periamma, after seeing my condition, took me to a nearby hospital. I wasn't able to sit, let alone walk to doctor's room. The doctor who looked at me when I was trying to sleep on his desk, ordered an IV for 2 days.
I wasn't letting the nurse inject the syringe as I have always been scared of them. One of my previous family doctor has even commented, 'How are you going to give birth to children in the future, if you are this scared of injection?". Fast forward to 2020, I am now immune to the injections and blood works. Following my miscarriage, I had my blood drawn for umpteen number of times every week and my husband was quite surprised about how I have changed. He felt bad for me.
Back to original story, I got my IV drips injected. My cousin came and stayed with me overnight. She is a nice person. Although we have had our own differences, she has always been there for me at my lows. I wish her all good luck, good health and happiness for her future.
I couldn't attend the exams as I was still in the hospital. I signed up for another set of exams that was about to happen in next two weeks. My parents came on the second day of my hospital admit and then I got recovered in next two days.
My parents were searching for a potential groom for my wedding. My dad showed me a picture of boy named Sai. I used to pray Shirdi Sai Baba diligently and the name of the groom hit me differently. I said OK immediately.
My dad was happy and replied the groom's family via email that we were interested to proceed further. My instinct said, this boy would be the chosen one for me :P
I gave my exams and I was also excited on what to wear for the பெண் பார்க்கும் படலம் scene. On the way after finishing my last set of exams, I went to a random fancy store in திருவான்மியூர் and bought this blue hair clutch to match my pink fancy saree with blue border.
I wore the clutch and the boy's family liked me. They said, the wedding can be arranged in next 6 months.
Today, this is how the hair clutch looks. It is 5 years old since it came to me. I cherish all the memories whenever I look at it. Thanks to my hair clutch for marking 5 year meeting anniversary with Sai.
